THE POUND HOUSE FARMSTEAD

Heritage museum and gathering place…

Take a step back in time and into the rich history of Dripping Springs at the Pound House Farmstead Museum. Nestled on five beautifully shaded, oak-filled acres, the 1854 farmstead offers a fascinating and informative glimpse into our community’s historic past. The Pound House is included on the National Register of Historic Places and has been a Texas State Historical Landmark since 1965. Enjoy a tour, attend an event, make a greatly appreciated donation, or volunteer.

Take a tour

Much of the museum’s collection belonged to the Pound family, making our display personal and unique. Today we are very happy to have as a docent to our museum the Great Great-Granddaughter (Wanda Mauldin) of Joseph and Sarah Pound.

Enjoy the scenery

The peaceful gardens and grounds include an oak tree that is over 500 years old, which we call “The Heritage Oak”. Discover the antique roses that Sarah brought as cuttings to her new home from her native Mississippi in 1853 and still thrive today.

Host a private event

In addition, our gorgeous grounds serve as an event venue and offer a unique and memorable setting for weddings, reunions, parties and celebrations. We invite you to participate with us in preserving the historic farmstead.
